It’s the end of another month! And even though I have been busy traveling and moving this month, I’m proud that I was able to finish five books and one novella while DNFing another book. I’m hoping that once everything settles and the temperature begins to cool in August, I’m going to edge back into my normal reading routines. Without further ado, here are the books that I finished in the month of July:
I think summer is the best time to read contemporary romance novels! This month, I was on my Taylor Jenkins Reid kick and read three of her books and one of her novellas. I honestly love all of the her writing, but my favorite was Maybe In Another Life, which is a unique love story that focuses on the concept of predestination. As always, TJR created some fantastic characters and integrated it well with beautiful writing.
Maybe in Another Life: 4 / 5 Stars
One True Loves: 3.75 / 5 Stars
The Soulmate Equation: 3 / 5 Stars
Forever, Interrupted: 3.75 / 5 Stars
The Maidens: 3 / 5 Stars
Evidence of the Affair (novella): 3 / 5 Stars
Kings and Daemons: DNF
I think this has been an average reading month, with ratings sitting at 3.4 / 5 Stars. Summer is definitely the best month to read some light romance – seeing as how many contemporary romance novels I’ve picked up! One of the biggest surprise in this recap is the SINGLE book that I DNFed, because I usually never put down books that I’ve started. Unfortunately, that book was just not for me.
I have been really bad about sticking to my TBRs so I’m hoping to at least hit 50% of the books on this list:
My most anticipated read of this month is A Promised Land by Barack Obama…mainly because I have been on the library waitlist to read this book for so long, and it’s finally here! I’m also hoping to make time to finally read The Sword of Kaigen. Everyone has been raving about this; unfortunately, I haven’t been able to prioritize it in my schedule.
If you have read any of these books, let me know what you think and which ones I should tackle first!
